Dear Colleagues:

Most states are in the final stage of application for EANS funding—Emergency Assistance to Non-Public Schools.  This is the first phase of EANS and a second EANS, authorized by the American Rescue Plan—will follow in late summer or early fall.  Many of you across the country have participated in the state-specific EANS webinars that I have been conducting.  In case you are not in a state that requested an EANS webinar from me and still have questions or need a refresher, I have recorded an EANS webinar that is available for free on my website: www.equitableservicesmdec.com.

In addition, there is a free Decision Tree for you to use and adapt as you discern how you want to benefit your students, teachers, and school community through the EANS program in concert with the federal education programs that you have come to rely on to provide services to your students.   You will find it on the website under Publications.

Finally, if you have any federal program questions that you think I could help you with, you can go to the website and click on “Ask Michelle.”

As the school year winds down—and it’s been quite a year—know that I wish you all the best as you continue to meet the challenges for teaching and learning brought on by the pandemic and that you all remain safe and healthy.

All the best,

Michelle L. Doyle
