I trust that each of you has had a time to rest and recharge this summer. It’s hard to believe the new school year is upon us! And with the new school year comes a renewed push for equitable services for private school students.
This school year I plan to provide several blog posts for you—particularly in light of the new Title VIII guidance recently released by the US Department of Education. I’ll also be providing you via www.equitableservicesmdec.com a summary and fact sheet for guidance highlights.
This coming November I again have the pleasure of being the primary speaker for Catapult Learning’s 11th annual Equitable Services Institute. ESI23 is scheduled for November 7, 8, and 9 in St. Louis. Hopefully you’ve received an invitation to register from Catapult, but in case you didn’t, here is the registration link. Spots are limited, so don’t delay!
I hope to see you in St. Louis. Our focus this year is US Department of Education guidance documents for both ESSA and IDEA—so count on a jam-packed agenda filled with great information, interaction with colleagues, experts from the field, and maybe even a surprise or two!
